Scarlet Horizons
Wolfen

Description:

The Wolfen are a unique race of beings embodying the essence of wolves in humanoid form. They possess a primal connection to the wilderness and have the extraordinary ability to transform seamlessly between humanoid and wolf forms. Wolfen individuals have a strong and muscular build, exuding an aura of power and agility. They possess sharp senses and keen instincts, reflecting their lupine lineage.

Enhanced Senses and Abilities:

Wolfen possess heightened senses, which are further amplified in their wolf form. Their night vision is exceptionally sharp, allowing them to navigate even the darkest environments with ease. Wolfen possess acute hearing, capable of detecting the faintest sounds. Their sense of smell is incredibly potent, enabling them to track scents over great distances and discern even the subtlest of odors. In their wolf form, Wolfen gain a significant boost to their speed, agility, strength and durability making them formidable hunters and combatants.

Transformation Ability:

The Wolfen's most remarkable trait is their innate capacity to shift between humanoid and wolf forms at will. When they undergo this transformation, their bodies undergo a profound physical alteration. In their wolf form, they become larger, sporting a powerful and muscular build. Their fur thickens, taking on the colors and patterns of wolves native to their environment. The Wolfen's eyes retain their lupine glow, emanating an intense and piercing gaze.

Humanoid Form Advantages:

In their humanoid form, Wolfen display certain advantages that differ from their wolf form. They possess a natural affinity for communication and diplomacy, with a heightened ability to understand social dynamics and read emotions. This makes them skilled negotiators and diplomats, capable of navigating complex interactions with finesse. Wolfen are proficient in ranged weaponry, such as bows or throwing weapons, thanks to their precise hand-eye coordination. Additionally, their humanoid form allows them to wear armor and utilize tools with ease, providing them with enhanced protection and versatility in different situations.

Wolf Form Advantages:

When Wolfen assume their wolf form, they gain physical attributes that surpass their humanoid abilities. Their speed, agility, and strength increase significantly, granting them an advantage in combat and pursuit. Lupins in wolf form possess heightened endurance, enabling them to traverse great distances without tiring. Their acute senses become even more acute, allowing them to track scents with unparalleled accuracy and perceive minute details in their surroundings.

Heroic Deeds and Traits:

Both forms have their own separate Heroic Deeds and Traits and both sides gain more as per their character's level. The Humanoid form side gains levels in whatever Class they choose to progress in while the Wolf forms side gains racial levels as a Wolf and may only select Wolf Heroic Deeds and traits appropriate for an animal. The exception to this is that both sides share the trait; Enhanced Senses. Like the Thief's archetype trait, Wolfen gain a free 3-points in this trait. Each time they advance a level, this trait increases by one point, even beyond the usual three-point limit for a trait but only on the Wolf Forms side. The Humanoid side of this trait remains capped at +3 or higher if regular trait points are eventually used to raise it passed +3.
