Susan traveling, Allan very ill

- Posted in Uncategorized by

S, H, and B headed out this morning for Indiana for B's sister's birthday. They arrived safely. I picked up groceries at Walmart this morning and spent the day piddling around reading and mucking about on my desktop.

I'm revisiting two interests that I've flirted with in the past: Ren'Py and Git.

I tried to get a medical update on A a few minutes ago but the call wasn't answered after the desk worker tried to transfer me. I'll try back, but I'm going to reach out to M on FB.

Morris Coffey suicide

If I feel as much improved Wednesday compared to today as I did today compared to Friday, I'll be mostly recovered from this UTI. It has really gut-punched me. I sure am glad I went to urgent care last Friday or by today I'd have been in rough shape indeed.

P let me off at 1:00 pm, after notes were done and TR clients had gone home. I texted her "thanks" while ago. I think she knows I'm a good worker and not milking the situation. She knows I chose to come to work today even though I didn't feel well.

I took a two-hour nap from about 2-4 pm, and have been proofreading since then. I just finished a 5K-word sprint and am getting ready to start another. Proofreading is currently 60% finished.

Mom texted while ago. They've visited the Yosemite National Park. Here's a screenshot about Morris Coffey's death she sent a few days ago:

Today when I got to work C. had emailed me, upset. She'd discovered the refrigerator door wide open, temperature 70 °F. I had K. requisition emergency money from the Business Office to replace a few perishables. We still had our roast for lunch — Manhattan style.

Allan made it in about 3ish this afternoon. I saw Dr. Sherry Jones and got enough refills for 6+ months. Then Susan and I went and had supper with Bobo and Allan in Crocus.

We had white beans, cornbread, relish, onions, pork chops, country ham, fried potatoes, and boiled cabbage.

I came across a couple more pictures of dad I collected in the days and weeks after he passed in March 2016. Sure do miss him.

Tomorrow, I'll call CertaCare and have them fill the B12 sublingual and the vitamin D. I'll pick it up after work, do my 10K run, then have supper with Allan and Bobo before he and I play some Magic: The Gathering.

Pastor appreciation and meal

Tomorrow at church we'll be celebrating our pastor. Tomorrow at church we'll be celebrating, who's been with us quite a few years now. Okie (i.e., Craig) is from Oklahoma, but has lived in Kentucky for more than two decades. He works in Bowling Green making the struts and other parts for steel bridges.

There'll be a big meal following the service. I think Mark Klingberg will also give a report on the congregation's recent finances.

Susan and I got up about 6:15 am this morning. I lay back down about eight and slept another three hours :)

I'm getting ready to mop the downstairs. Susan is washing a load of my running socks. And I received a shipment from Stitchfix.com today and we picked out a shirt to keep. I'll wear it to church tomorrow.

It's about 1:30 pm. I'm uploading a bunch of mp3 files to my Onedrive account. I'm going to also upload them to my NAS, then make a Macrium backup of my ASUS laptop.

Susan, Emma, and I have been watching some Halloweenish movies. The kind of stuff Susan really likes. It's nice having Emma home for the weekend.

I talked to mom and stepped her through getting her iphone functional after an OS update. She said she's been slinging hash all day in preparation for the Pastor Appreciation Luncheon after the service tomorrow. She's tired.

I wrote a brief article today about how to package this blog as an Electron app.

Me and Susan 15 October 2023

I found this picture of Susan and me while vacationing in Panama City in 2017 with the kids.

Today, we had a dozen clients for our field trip to Hinton Orchard. They seemed to really enjoy the hayride. We waited until getting back to TR to eat our sack lunches. It was only 10:30 am when we arrived.

I'm still dorking around with the Windows LInux Subsystem on my Hewlett Packard. I've installed mono this evening.

I ran 10-K this afternoon for the second time in two days, this afternoon.
