A day in the life

Emma is now a freshman at the University of Kentucky, and has changed her major from Engineering to Architecture.

She's in this weekend for a visit, but heads back to Lexington tonight.

Last night I went to the community Fall church musicfest/picnic at the Polly Barn with my brother Allan. He's leaving this morning to head back to Dayton. I enjoyed spending time with him the last few days. We played a lot of MTG games. I'd say he won about 60% of them. My prayers go up for him because he's struggling in his marriage and is unhappy. And I worry about his continuing alcohol use.

I didn't get to bed till about 11:30 last night, and got up about 6:45 this morning. Susan has to go see a patient to administer an enema (fun). I slept well. Susan said she slept so-so. I've put up the interior of the 11th wedding anniversary card Susan gave to me. I have ordered her a set of coffee mugs for couples. She really likes her coffee cups/mugs. I found this set on Amazon, which is my go-to place for shopping. I love the prime membership and fast deliveries. So this set should arrive, gift-wrapped, perhaps as early as today:

We did an earthquake drill at work this morning, and I did groups with supporting psychoeducational videos on panic attacks, school shootings, and what constitutes adequate consent with regard to sexual relations.

She is Susan's pride and joy. I admit, I give her an awful lot of attention as well.

I took a nap after getting home from work, then Susan and I went to Crocus and had barbecue, hot dogs, scalloped potatoes, cowboy beans, and tossed salad at Bobo's with Alan and the Jones' clan. Afterward, Allan I played maybe eight or nine games of MTG. I won more than I lost.

It's late now -- 11:18 am, and I fixing to go to bed. Allan's got a lot on his mind about marital troubles and we talked some about it. I'd love to see him move back down here.

He says he's planning on being at the church shindig at the Polly Barn at 6pm tomorrow. I told him maybe we can get together and plan some more MTG during the day. I really need to either run or else do a strident stationary bike workout. Then, Allan plans on leaving sometime Sunday morning. They're anniversary is coming up in March, I think. I believe he will hold off on separation plans until April, 2020.

Allan visiting

My brother, Allan, is in from Dayton, Ohio, having arrived yesterday around 3:00 pm local time. Last night I ate supper with him and Bobo, then he and I played six games of MTG, each winning three. I used the same red/white deck each time, the only one I had with me. But today I will take all my decks (about a dozen), for the sake of variety.

I posted a brag/thankfulness on Facebook today from my cell regarding my 11th wedding anniversary with Susan Miller on 10/25/2019. I am indeed a lucky, blessed man. Susan got me a cute little silvery keychain trinket that says "I still do" and has the date 10.25.08 inscribed. I've got it on my keychain (note: need picture).

I've ordered her a gift but it hasn't arrived yet.

Friday we're supposed to congregate in Crocus to burn a brush pile and have a weenie-roast supper. They're calling for rain but not until after dark.

I suppose tomorrow after work that I'll go on over and play cards with Allan. I'd like to get home by 9:00 pm tomorrow night. I do enjoy our games, though. I think right now it's about 8 games to 5, his lead. But I'm not sure.

He's built about another eighteen decks since he was down last time for a visit.

This is my son, Seth Isaac Miller, at about age 10. I haven't seen him since 2013, when his evil biological mother -- for the second time -- brought false allegations against me with DCBS. I sure do miss him! I love you, son, always!

What a tenderhearted child, but oh what a victim of his mother's propaganda. And, I'm quite sure, of numerous failures on my part. What a testament to the evil, unfair, cruel nature of this world that we were the victims of such manipulation and of a very screwed-up system and the ineptitude of so many government workers, not to mention the laxity of my own lawyer.

I can only hope and pray that you have found a happy adulthood, son, a life you find fulfilling and joyful. Those are my fondest wishes for you. Some months ago, I came into possession of this photo of my son in his teens. I don't know how old he is in <a target="_new" href="/content/images/teenSeth.jpg"">this picture. I'm thinking sixteen, perhaps.

Most definitely I can see both his mother and myself in his features. Sadly, he doesn't look happy in this photo. I can only hope it's temporary and situational, perhaps teenage angst.

Today when I got to work C. had emailed me, upset. She'd discovered the refrigerator door wide open, temperature 70 °F. I had K. requisition emergency money from the Business Office to replace a few perishables. We still had our roast for lunch — Manhattan style.

Allan made it in about 3ish this afternoon. I saw Dr. Sherry Jones and got enough refills for 6+ months. Then Susan and I went and had supper with Bobo and Allan in Crocus.

We had white beans, cornbread, relish, onions, pork chops, country ham, fried potatoes, and boiled cabbage.

I came across a couple more pictures of dad I collected in the days and weeks after he passed in March 2016. Sure do miss him.

Tomorrow, I'll call CertaCare and have them fill the B12 sublingual and the vitamin D. I'll pick it up after work, do my 10K run, then have supper with Allan and Bobo before he and I play some Magic: The Gathering.

That's a picture of Paul Miller's old that Okie Trumbo bought from mom after dad passed away. Okie's done a lot of work on it.

While I was doing my notes at work today (billed on 5 clients), I showed Remember The Titans. I think they really enjoyed it. Even my two elderly gentleman stayed an hour later than usual to finish it. And the movie teaches a lot of good values. We'll discuss it during group tomorrow morning, for continuity's sake. I need to demonstrate from my questions and discussion about the movie that there was a clinical reason for showing it.

I was hoping to run this afternoon but got rained out. I came home and took a nap after eating some pork roast over toast for supper. Right now, Susan and I are sitting with Papa Brummett (Jimmie) while Mamaw (Barbara) is at Bible study.

H's fiance, AR, decompensated (anxiety and depression) and is hospitalized.

To create an Electron app version of my blog:

It might be nice to occasionally (monthly?) make an Electron app version of the Flatpress blog that runs atop Apache. I could leave copies of the Electron version for Susan and Allan in the event of my death. Reason? None of them would know how to troubleshoot any Flatpress/hosting/apache issues without my help.
